Because telling himself she was off-limits hadn’t worked. Reminding himself he’d screwed up in the worst imaginable way with Arielle hadn’t been enough to squelch the desire for Sierra either, and he’d tried his damnedest to keep that failing in mind.

Still, he wanted her.

But until he knew that Sierra returned the feeling, he took pleasure from his fingers in the hair tucked behind her ear, his thumb stretched to trace the plump fullness of her gorgeous lips.

He was more worked up just talking to her than he’d been for women he’d taken to his bed. Even now, he dragged in deep breaths to catch her scent, the orange blossom fragrance of her skin an aphrodisiac that made him desperate to taste her. She looked so beautiful tonight, her pale hair limned by the firelight, the white cable knit sweater and leggings she wore not doing anything to hide feminine curves.

Finding her in his living room after a hellish day had felt like a reward he didn’t deserve. He hoped she wanted him even half as much as he yearned to touch her. All of her.

Before Sierra spoke, she edged back to look him in the eyes, her hands coming to rest on his shoulders.

“I’ve had a whole week to think about what I want to happen next.” Her green gaze never wavered from his as her fingers clenched the fabric of his work shirt. “And now that you’ve asked, I have a long list.”

Heat streaked through him, turning him hard as steel. Sweat popped along his shoulders. His mouth went dry.

“Tell me. Everything.” His fingers cupped the base of her neck, massaging lightly.

“I want no space between us.” Her words were urgent. “Zero.”

Before she finished, he had her in his lap, her legs straddling his thighs. He gripped her hips, pulling her to him where he needed her most. Through the thin cotton of her leggings, he could feel her warmth.

She gasped while he groaned at how good it felt to have her there. Still clutching his shirt, she twisted the fabric a little, grip tightening.

“What else?” he pressed, his fingertips straying under her sweater just enough to feel silky bare skin above the waistband of her tights.

Her head tipped closer as she gazed down at him, her hair falling forward to frame her face.

“I might need my sweater off for the next part—” she began, only to have her words lost in the muffling of cable knit as he dragged it up her body and off.

High, round breasts wrapped in peach-colored lace were the sexiest thing he’d ever seen.
